According to Mohammed, case studies were being actively conducted throughout Bauchi State by the state administration, working with implementing partners like Breakthrough Action-Nigeria.

In order to raise awareness, he stated that a number of phone-in television and radio programs will be held in honor of World TB Day in 2023.

Moreover, free testing and treatment for TB, COVID-19, HIV, hepatitis, and malaria would be offered, along with nutritional help for select patients.

Dr. Yakubu Abdullahi, Director of the Bauchi State Tuberculosis Control Program, stated in his remarks that the organization will train pediatric doctors from secondary and tertiary institutions on case detection among children.

He said that in order to find children with TB, the organization worked in conjunction with nutritional clinics around the state.

“Diagnosing tuberculosis in children is a challenge, but we have decided to use their stools as samples,’’ Abdullahi said.
