The APC chieftain expressed his appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari, as well as other political leaders, who visited him while he was in London.

The APC chieftain is, however, yet to officially declare his interest to run for presidency.

Anambra Guber: Southeast Group Warns IPOB Against Threat

A coalition of Civil Society Organisations (CSO) in the South-East, has warned the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) of the grievous implication of trying to truncate the Anambra State governorship election with its sit-at-home.

It explained that if the election did not hold as scheduled, it would translate to a total breakdown of law and order, and would therefore result in the declaration of a state of emergency.

The CSOs stated this in Enugu during a press conference on the Anambra governorship poll, agitation for self-determination, and insecurity.

IPOB had declared Friday, November 5, 2021, to Wednesday, November 10, as days for sit-at-home in the South-East to put pressure on the Federal Government to release its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, from detention.

Newsrand understands that the governorship election is scheduled to hold in Anambra State on Saturday, November 6.

Addressing journalists, the leader of the coalition and Board Chair, International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law (Intersociety), Emeka Umeagbalasi, warned, “If we fail in the Anambra election, it is going to be a nomadic rainforest state.”

Umeagbalasi, flanked by leaders of the coalition, appealed to the leaders of IPOB and other pro-Biafra agitators to rescind the sit-at-home order so that they would not create a repeat of what happened in Imo State.

He stated, “If the election does not hold on November 6, 2021, it means you have created a state of anarchy and a total breakdown of law and order in Anambra State. What this means is that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria cannot keep quiet and allow a part of the country to degenerate to anarchy. The only safest thing he can do is to declare a state of emergency in that state.

“I’m sure this is not what the people of Anambra State want at this point in time.

“With the planned sit-at-home home, we will be preparing the ground for what happened in Imo State to befall Anambra.”

Kano Is Behind Tinubu For President, Says Speaker

The Speaker of the Kano House of Assembly, Hamisu Chidari said the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state would support the 2023 presidential ambition of the party chieftain Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

He spoke at the inauguration of the Tinubu Support Group and the state steering committees of the TSG in Abuja.

Chidari said Kano State, which has the highest number of voters and delegates in the country, would repay Tinubu’s act of helping President Muhammadu Buhari, to become President in 2015.

“My purpose is to kick-start the journey that will take us to the Villa by God’s grace with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the number one citizen of Nigeria,” he said.

The lawmaker added, “In Kano, being the state with the highest number of delegates, we have already decided and already concluded; we are set to give him at least 98% of delegates in the primaries. Not only that, we are set as usual to give him the highest number of votes so that come May 29, 2023, we will be at Eagle Square to swear him in as the President.

“All of us in the North-West are aware of the role he played in taking our son, President Muhammadu Buhari, to the Villa. So, we are going to reward him; we are going to pay him back. So, I have assured him of victory. Almost all the delegates from the North-West states are going to vote for him in the next primary elections.”

The purported ambition of the former governor of Lagos State was said to have deepened the crisis of the APC in Kano State, it was gathered.

APC Governors Want Tinubu To Succeed Buhari, Says Dayo Adeyeye

National Chairman, South-West Agenda for Bola Tinubu’s presidential ambition, codenamed SWAGA 2023, Dayo Adeyeye has disclosed that 16 All Progressives Congress (APC) governors are covertly supporting the presidential aspiration of the former Lagos State governor.

According to Adeyeye, the APC governors think Tinubu is the right person to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.

Adeyeye, a former Minister of Works (state), said this while inaugurating the factional executives belonging to the SWAGA group across the 16 local government areas of Ekiti State.

The former minister said: “Bola Tinubu will be the next President of this country and one of us will become the governor in Ekiti State. I am happy that the new executives have passion for this group and this will lead to action and, eventually, victory for all of us.

“APC leaders and members across board are using their money to fund SWAGA. Members are not after money. Let me tell you this, 16 governors are now backing Tinubu for president and they are no longer afraid, after Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State openly supported us when we did the flag off in Lagos.”

On the new parallel executives inaugurated by SWAGA, the former Minister said: “Those that were inaugurated today (yesterday) are the authentic APC executives in Ekiti. The party at the national level brought out a guideline that people should come out and queue to vote for the ward and local government congresses, but these people didn’t come out.”

Meanwhile, the Arewa Youth Alliance for 2023 has drummed up support for Tinubu, saying he remains the best presidential material in 2023.

In a statement by the coordinator, Arewa Youth Alliance for 2023, Mr. Bello Lawan urged all political parties in the country to commence a process of adopting Tinubu as the sole candidate for Nigeria’s President in 2023 adding that “the majority of the youths from Northern Nigeria are waiting for the time to elect him as their President.”

Lawan said: “The APC leader has the capacity, national appeal, know-how, and management skills to lead and unite Nigeria based on his landmark achievement as Lagos Governor and as National leader of APC with a voluminous contribution to the success of the Buhari administration.

“We understand that majority of the people from Northern Nigeria believe that when the Presidency is zoned to the Southern part of the country, there is this single person that has the capacity, capability, and charisma to take Nigeria to the Promised Land; he is Bola Tinubu.

“It is a fact that Tinubu is a champion for progress and development as it was evident with his antecedents while he was the Governor of Lagos State. His policies and actions culminated into a practical development model based on research conducted, many States in Nigeria have since adopted it in their States, and this model is also been used by prestigious institutions of learning across the globe as one of the successful development and economic models from Africa’s largest country.”
