As BBNaija season six draws near, Newsrand brings you memorable moments that rocked the 2020 edition of the reality Tv show organised by MultiChoice Nigeria.
As earlier reported, while a release date for the BBNaija season six was yet-to-be disclosed, it has already been announced that the new season will see its winner take home N90 million worth of prizes.
Following the end of 2020, BBNaija Season five which saw 26-year-old rapper, Laycon as the winner of the ₦85 million worth of prizes, many fans of the show were yet to get over the ecstasy that the show brought to the screens of millions of people.
The show which had millions of Nigerians and fans from other countries excited, wasn’t without its many twists and turns and much to the pleasure of many fans of the reality show. As fans gearing for the 2021 edition of BBNaija, Newsrand gathered below some of the show’s memorable moments in the past:
Cee-C’s invective at Tobi
During the 2018 edition of BBNaija, one of the most memorable moments was when Cee-C spent over one hour provoking and mentally abusing her fellow housemate, Tobi. There was nothing she didn’t call Tobi who kept his cool as she poured invective at him.
The barrage of insults continued even as fellow housemates pleaded with Cee-C to calm down.
Bambam and Teddy A’s sex in the toilet
Evicted BBnaija housemates, Teddy A and Bambam became an internet sensation after their infamous ‘toilet sex’ episode in the reality TV show.
The lovebirds who are now married, had the video of them getting busy in the toilet of the BBNaija house, viral.
The 2019 edition of the BBNaija show, dubbed Pepper Dem Gang witnessed a big moment when Esther turned down Frodd’s relationship appeal.
Frodd, who has been a close pal of Esther, decided to tell the female housemate how he feels about her, and how he wanted them to be intimate friends.
But sadly to Frodd, Esther who seems not to feel the same way turned him down outrightly and the rejection sent the former into tears.
Tolani Baj and Ka3na’s clash
Lockdown housemates, Tolani Baj and Ka3na were caught in a fight over rice and stew with boiled plantain. The fight became a full blown and the most important thing, that it became one of the most talked-about moments of the show.
Kemen’s disqualification after sexually abusing Tboss
Kemen was disqualified from the 2017 BBNaija reality show for sexually touching Tboss without her consent while she was asleep.
Burna Boy had announced that his new song, “Last-Last”, off his next album, “Love, Damini”, will be released on May 13th.
His announcement came a few hours after Davido announced his first song, “Stand Strong”, off his next album to be released on the same date.
Recall, Burna Boy, had earlier hinted at the release date of his next album when he spoke with Trevor Noah on The Daily Show, stating that his forthcoming body of work is underway.
“It’s going to come out on a day everyone celebrates for themselves when it’s their own day,” Burna Boy said.
“It’s not what you do. It’s not everybody in the world that has a job you know. But this, everybody, has it. Everybody has a day to celebrate.”
Popular American television, Amazon Studios, has acquired Jim Iyke’s latest movie production “Bad Comments”
According to the award-winning actor, the movie was produced as a way to address social media trolling.
“The social media space isn’t being utilized positively and this is tragic. Social Media is supposed to be a space where people can find their dreams and shortcuts to exhibit what they really are. Jim Iyke earlier explained when asked about his movie.
‘‘It’s become cool to project cruelty and hatred online and Bad comments speak to this, we hope to show some of the perils of social media, we worked hard on a powerful production which has something for everyone.”
The deal by Amazon would make the social impact centered movie, the highest negotiation so far in the African movie industry.
The movie which has made waves both in Nigeria and internationally is also an official selection for the 17th Edition of the Harlem International Film Festival (The people’s film festival) slated for May 5th -15th, 2022.
The Harlem Festival is an annual festival in Harlem, New York that celebrates films from around the world.
The highly acclaimed film was released in August 2021 starring Jim Iyke, Ayo Makun, Osas Ighodaro, Yemi Blaq, Sharon Ooja, Chiwetel Agu, Patience Ozokwor, Ruggedman, Ini Edo, Timaya, and a host of others.
